Volunteer Programs Coordinator

Hillwood Estate, Museum & Gardens welcomes over 100,000 visitors each year to experience its stunning gardens and art collection. We are seeking a collaborative and detail-oriented individual to coordinate Hillwood’s volunteer programs and foster meaningful engagement with our volunteers across the estate.
About the Role
As the Volunteer Programs Coordinator, you will oversee the day-to-day coordination of Hillwood’s vibrant volunteer community, supporting Visitor Services Volunteers, Mansion Docents, and Garden Docents. Your role ensures that all volunteer programs run smoothly through thoughtful scheduling, proactive communication, and seamless coordination with departments across the museum.
You will manage monthly and daily schedules, maintain accurate records, and support the volunteer experience with warmth, efficiency, and attention to detail. Your work is central to creating a positive and welcoming environment where volunteers are set up to succeed and feel appreciated. You'll also play a key role in recruitment and onboarding, introducing new volunteers to Hillwood’s mission and culture with care and enthusiasm.

Our most popular medical plan has an upfront deductible of $1,650 per year for single coverage and $3,300 per year for dependent/family coverage, with a Health Savings Account (HSA) tied to the plan.

Hillwood will contribute up to $1,650 annually into your HSA if you elect single coverage, or up to $3,300 annually for dependent/family coverage for the 2025 plan year, prorated based on the effective month of your coverage.

Employee contribution rates for medical plans are based on the coverage level selected and the employee’s base annualized salary. Essentially, those with higher salaries pay more. The maximum employee contribution is $170 per biweekly payroll; most employees pay much less.

Retirement Savings Plan: Hillwood matches up to 5% of the employee contribution. The Hillwood contribution is 100% vested upon reaching three years of service.
