About Jianhui
Jianhui's creative journey began in a rural village in one of China's most impoverished areas. His mother gave him the name Jianhui (pronounced Janway), meaning "building a splendid life," with the hope that he would achieve greatness.
As a child, Jianhui found solace in the colorful mountain flowers that starkly contrasted with the bleakness of his surroundings. Upon relocating to London, the vibrant city and its people ignited Jianhui's inspiration. He scoured Portobello Road for second-hand pieces and used them to recreate the beautiful flowers of his youth, ultimately giving birth to Jianhui London.
Today, Jianhui continues to draw inspiration from nature, creating handmade, eco-friendly designs using recycled, sustainable materials. His creations have garnered admiration from style icons like Iris Apfel and Lily Tomlin, as well as esteemed institutions such as MAD (Museum of Arts and Design NYC), MoMA, and the Detroit Institute of Art.
Jianhui firmly believes that sustainability is a mission, not a passing trend, and his efforts contribute to making our planet greener. His sustainable initiatives have been recognized, with his recycled leather collection receiving an award from NY Now. Moreover, his Aqua collection, crafted entirely from recycled plastic bottles or newspapers, has left consumers awestruck with its beauty.
