Ingenue to Icon Lecture Series
Discover how the revolutionary changes for women in the twentieth century were expressed through ground-breaking fashions.
Marjorie Merriweather Post came of age during some of the most transformative times for American women in the twentieth century. The seven decades of clothing represented in the special exhibition, Ingenue to Icon, offers insights into Post's own use of style to project her role to society and into the progess of American women from the early 1900s to the 1970s. This three-part lecture series, 20th-Century Transformations of Women and Fashion, extends the story told in the exhibition to present new angles on the powerful role of fashion.
