A portrait of Nedenia Hutton as a young girl, seated facing the right, with her face turned to full front. She is leaning on a Chippendale game table, (33.12) with her chin resting on the back of her right hand, and her elbow on a large open book in front of her. Her left forearm and hand rest in front of her one the book and are lifting a few pages. A velvet and brocade cover is on the table, and drapes over the edge. Her hair is blonde in chin-length loose curls and she is wearing a short-sleeved blue and white dotted dress with a bow sash at back. There is a mottled reddish background.
